3 Things to Know About Commercial Auto Insurance

If you use a vehicle for your business, you don’t want to jeopardize your own personal auto insurance coverage.

  1. If you’re a business owner and you have a vehicle owned by the business, then the business name should be on the policy not your name. This will ensure that if a claim is filed it is filed under the business and not in your name.
  2. If employees drive their own vehicles for businesses proposes, commercial auto policy will act as secondary coverage if the employee’s own policy does not provide sufficient coverage. This is called non-owned auto insurance.
  3. Commercial auto insurance will cover rental cars used on business trips if in an accident.
